Hello all–

I hope the start of autumn is bringing steadiness and rest to you where you can find them. It is a solemn moment in Austin, with ICE having shot another person on Sunday. As I shared with comrades recently, it is a long and tortuous road to a better world.

I’m still thinking about my time in Chicago two and a half weeks ago, where I presented on Black radical preachers and liberation theology with my father, Rev. Dr. Daryl Hairston, and my dear comrade, Dr. Charles Holm, at the Socialism Conference. My sister and niece observed, which was such a gift.

While there, I connected with an incredible comrade, Ryan, who serves as an editor for the Kansas City Defender. Ryan graciously invited me to write about Black liberation theology for the storied outlet, and the first installment of my column went live yesterday.
